Answering a Special Need and Responding
The need for your involvement and support is the result of a changing healthcare environment, which has presented Marshall Browning Hospital with new financial challenges. It has become increasingly more difficult for the hospital to generate adequate revenue to meet its operating expenses. Medicare and Medicaid's payment system, bad debt, and charity care are a few of the reasons. For example, Marshall Browning Hospital receives on average only 50 cents for each dollar of revenue generated. Marshall Browning Hospital is constantly looking for solutions to these challenges, which have decreased the amount of funds available for capital improvements and other special projects.
Sharing the Solution
The members of the Annual Giving Club serve as an integral part of the overall solution. Together, they support Marshall Browning Hospital in providing funds not otherwise available to the hospital, making possible exciting improvements that benefit the health and wellness of all the communities served.
Requirements of Membership
To join the Annual Giving Club there are only two requirements needed:
- An active interest in the future development and capital projects of Marshall Browning Hospital.
- An annual contribution to the hospital.
How are the Contributions Used?
Your membership gift for the Annual Giving Club goes immediately into a fund that is used only for capital equipment, renovation, and the expansion needs of the hospital. Every gift is used for patient care facilities, programs, or equipment. No contributions are used for operating expenses or to pay salaries of any personnel. Donations are tax deductible as provided by law.
An Invitation to Join
We hope that you will decide to join the other caring individuals who support Marshall Browning Hospital through membership in the Annual Giving Club. There are three levels from which to choose:
- Bronze - gifts of $100 or more annually
- Silver - gifts of $250 or more annually
- Gold - gifts of $500 or more annually

Privileges of Membership
In addition to the tax-deductible benefits provided by your valuable gift to Marshall Browning Hospital, membership in the Annual Giving Club affords you the following privileges:
- Permanent recognition in our hospital.
- Personal invitation to an annual event recognizing Annual Giving Club members.
- Invitation to other special events and programs offered by the hospital.
- Recognition in the hospital's quarterly newsletter.
- Updates on the hospital services and activities.
