About Du Quoin, IL
Du Quion is a small town that has been a main staple on the economy of Illinois for years. The town is named after Chief Du Quoin, who was chief of the Tamaroas tribe in the late 1700's. His son was the subsequent chief. In later years, settlers came to the camps along the banks of the Little Muddy River.
Located in the southeast portion of the state, Du Quoin is surrounded by beautiful scenery and farmland. Today Du Quoin thrives on agriculture and industrial resources.
